YOUR MACHINE IS THE BOUNDARY
Kabine is local-first. Most of what the product does never touches a server at all — and nothing audio-related ever leaves your machine
What We Store
Two things, and only two things, are ever stored — both optional for core use:
Beta invite email
The email you submit to request a beta invite, held in a KV store solely to manage access to the beta. No newsletter, no sharing, no analytics profile. Delete anytime by writing to info@kabine.net.
App settings
Your preferences live in your browser's localStorage on this machine — language, window state, demo toggles. They never leave your browser
What Never Leaves The Machine
Audio analysis, samples, and Shobi's memory are computed and stored locally, full stop:
- Audio analysis runs in your browser or on your machine — no audio file is ever sent to a server
- Your samples, patches and vector library index stay on your machine
- Shobi's four memory tiers (working, project, style rules, gig history) stay on your machine
- The optional managed Companion pack sends only text to the LLM/RAG service you explicitly connect — never your audio
Trackers
None by default. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party scripts. If we ever add optional analytics, it ships disabled and asks first
